Chalet at the Falls
Part of the Many Glacier Hotel complex, this small chalet/cabin was built by the Great Northern Railroad in the early 1900"s. This cabin was part of the Chalet city that preceded the original building of the Many Glacier Hotel. Most of the other Chalets were located on the lower slope of Altyn Peak, located behind this chalet. Very few of these cabins remain today. One was crushed by an avalanche and several others were destroyed by the Swiftcurrent vally fire of 1936. Today, these rustic alpine cabins are used to house the employees that work around Many Glacier in the summer months.
