One of the great gathering places in Spokane's largest park, Manito, is the pond. Referred to as Manito Pond, duck pond or mirror pond. When the city of Spokane was in its infancy, Mirror pond was much larger., stretching from Grand Boulevard to Division. in the winter people could enjoy ice skating and hockey. Many changes have happened since then including scaling back the pond. This image was taken at sunrise in the spring a couple years before the newest updates.
