Outside of Moab Utah is the La Sal Mountains. Moab is surrounded by beautiful shades of sandstone. But a short trip out of town and you might think you aren't in Southern Utah anymore. The La Sal Mountains contain forests of beautiful evergreen and deciduous trees. In the fall, the aspens change into their trademark golden yellow. Groves of Aspen can be found all over the hillsides of the the La Sal Mountains. This image was taken right off the La Sal Mountain Loop road. in a small grove of aspen. One of the countless places to pull off the road and enjoy the picturesque scenery. Converting this image really brings out the texture of the tree trunks, grass and fallen leaves. While the yellow leaves do show that it is fall, the contrast and texture of the Black and white bring out all the details.
