This is a place that exceded my expectaions. The simplistic beauty of this fairytail village was beyond any dreams. Hallstatt is located in the Austian Alps. Up until recently, it wasn't know for its winter wonderland christmas card beauty. Before being over run by tourists, Hallstatt was know more for being the center of the salt trade for Europe. A prehistoric cemetery found near the salt mines was dated to aroun 1200 BC. The actual settlement was closer to 500 BC. Now, a world Heritage site. people travel from all over to expeince their own real life fairytale town.
