My luck with sunset or sunrise on the coast is about 1 in every 4 attempts. Of coarse this doesn't include the days that I know there will be no chance of any kind for a sunrise or sunset. It either has to do with coastal fog, storms or just heavy cloud cover. Sometimes I get that tease where the sun is out with some good clouds. But as I wait for the golden hour, all the light gets swallowed up by the clouds and everything turns flat and dull. When I do get that opportunity it seems like it is a grand event. It is like all or nothing. The sky explodes in color. Light is reflecting off and illuminating everything. Somethings it is so breathtaking that I get distracted just looking at it and loose my concentration from photographing it. This was one of those evenings where the sunset was everything and more.
