Minnehaha Autumn

Minnehaha Autumn

One of the more mysterious places in Spokane is an area called Minnehaha. It is now a park with a playground and many trails to hike and bike but a dive into its past reveals a colorful history. At the turn of the 19th century, the area was know to host Bordellos, bars and dance halls that were pushed out of the city. Before all of this it was the summer home of Edgar J. Webster, a lawyer who discovered mineral water springs on the property and opened a spa. In the 1920's the city purchased the land and started developing it into a park. Where the story about this place gets interesting is the what happens when it gets dark. Through the years many people have reported hearing and seeing ghosts of children, hearing footsteps and not seeing anyone, strange growling noises, and the ghost of a man walking a dog. Some say there use to be an orphanage on the property where some of the children where murdered. The story of the orphanage has never been proven but still new accounts of ghosts keep happening.
