This trip was solely for the purpose of photographing the canola fields with dramatic skies. There were some isolated storm cells moving through with the potential for some great cloud formations to complement the blooming canola fields. As the evening went, I was fairly successful at getting images from my shot list and plus some good bonus shots. The clouds started to come in heavy and block the sun so I wasn't holding out much hope for a sunset. But still not completely giving up I decided to drive around a little more to scout images for a future trip. Then, at one point I looked west and saw the sky light up in red. It was well past sunset so I had to work quickly. I returned to this farm that was surrounded by the canola fields and the sky was perfect. Mission accomplished.
