Bear Grass Forever

Bear Grass Forever

For me, bear grass is one of those flowers that has always captivated me every time I see it. It is very unique when it blooms with tightly packed flowers forming a bulb. The plants bloom every 7 years and only grows above certain elevations. Some years the flowers are more abundant than others. On this year, the meadows and forests on Mount Spokane were filled with bear grass. I have never seen it quite like this but trying to capture it was a whole other challenge. In this image the bear grass is surrounded by huckleberry plants. If you look closely you can see all the green berries on the plants.

I offer a variety of landscape, nature and wildlife images and fine art digital paintings. I also have many agricultural, farming and countryside images as well. Most of my work is from around the Pacific Northwest, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, British Columbia, and Alberta. Please look through my galleries or visit my website to view my full portfolio.
