A hidden gem located in Northern Idaho. First, the drive up the north fork of the Coeur d'Alene river is work the trip all by itself. Then after a short drive on a very rough forest road you reach a small parking lot. Only a short hike brings you to Fern falls and a little farther past, Shadow Falls. Both are located on the tributary of Yellow Dog Creek. Perfect for a short walk and maybe a picnic. There are so many different angles this waterfall can be photographed from and make look like a different one in each image. I spent well over an hour photographing and can't wait to go back.
