Most of the images of the Palouse we see are in color and deservingly so. The beautiful colors of crops and fallow farmland contrast each other with perfect golden light. But, I decided to go outside the box and remove all color. Now we focus on the beautiful shapes with the contrast between shadows and light along with the textures of the crops. You actually have to examine the photo closer to understand what you are actually looking at. Is this desert sand dunes, seldom seen rare landscape from parts unknown, or is it the unique and beautiful Palouse?
