I named this Watermelon Sunset not because some of the colors look like the inside of a watermelon but because of the Watermelon Hill fire. Actually the smoke from the fire did add to the colors of the sunset on this evening but it is a little more than that. For two days my town and the outllyning areas were held hostage by this fire and strong winds. Many were forced to evacuate thier homes while others were told to sand bye and be ready to evacute on a monents notice. Most were lucky and didn't loose anything to the fire but some weren't. With other fires around the state buring eveything in sight leaving people with nothing, this was a huge reality check for so many in the area but it also say how quickly people reacted to help out thier frinds and nieghbors.
